Loek often works on complex and high-profile bankruptcy cases. As such, he regularly acts for directors and creditors in disputes with bankruptcy trustees. Loek also advises and litigates in debt collection disputes, shareholder disputes and disputes involving directors’ liability.
Loek has substantial experience litigating cases before relevant Dutch courts. Loek is a teacher at the Law Firm School and regularly writes on legal subjects relating to his practice. He was a member of the editorial board for the INSOLAD yearbook 2020 titled ‘The Trustee and the Bankruptcy Pro-cess and Procedural Laws’.
Recent work highlights include advising the largest healthcare insurer in the bankruptcy of two Dutch hospitals (MC Sloter-vaart and MC IJsselmeerziekenhuizen); advising a major landlord in relation to the bankruptcy of Hudson’s Bay; and advising the Brazilian Oi Telecom Group in a US$20 billion restructuring
