Juan Carlos is the head partner of the transactional and financial practice of Santamarina y Steta with almost 30 years of experience providing advice to various local and international entities in the development of financial, infrastructure and M&A projects in Mexico. His talent and knowledge have earned him multiple awards from recognised institutions at an international level.

He earned his law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and completed postgraduate studies in international business and finance at New York University, management and leadership at Harvard Law School, global banking at Columbia Business School and is in the process of finalising a programme on project finance with Middlesex University in London.

He is a member of the board of directors and different committees at several companies and organisations, has been a continuous speaker in national and international forums and is the author of texts for Time Magazine, Forbes, LatinLawyer and LatinFinance, among others.

Juan Carlos is a professor of commercial and civil law at Universidad Anáhuac and has been a professor of M&A postgradute courses at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in Mexico City.
