John Veraja is an associate in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and restructuring.
He has represented LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and the United States in the voluntary reorganisation and restructuring of their debt under Chapter 11 protection in the United States, including the negotiation of their US$2.45 billion DIP facility; Total SA and affiliates as major customers and contract counterparties in the Chapter 11 proceedings of McDermott International, a restructuring of US$9.25 billion of debt; Odebrecht SA in successfully obtaining recognition of Brazilian restructuring under Chapter 15 and stay of related US litigation; and an ad hoc group of secured project finance lenders in connection with the restructuring, recapitalisation and reorganisation of Constellation Oil Services Holding SA and its subsidiaries.
John joined the firm in 2018. He received a JD from New York University School of Law and a BS from Cornell University.
