Howard Morris is head of the London business restructuring and insolvency group at Morrison & Foerster LLP. He has more than 20 years’ experience in UK and international restructuring and insolvency work, and has acted for banks and other secured and unsecured creditors, committees of bondholders, trade creditors, debtors, and acquirers of business and assets from insolvent companies. Howard’s experience in international asset tracing and recovery, as well as banking and finance, extends to matters involving the UK, the United States and a number of other jurisdictions, including continental Europe, central Asia, Russia, Africa, the Middle East and offshore financial centres.
Howard practised for a number of years at the bar before becoming a solicitor, and he is currently an accredited Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution mediator. He is a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and co-chair of the Projects Committee of the International Insolvency Institute.
Howard has written numerous books and articles on restructuring and insolvency, including, most recently, a commentary on the practical implications of legal changes expected following Brexit and the EU’s insolvency proposals. He also regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on cross-border insolvency issues.
