Diego Sierra is the co-head of the arbitrarion and litigation practices at Von Wobeser y Sierra. He also leads the anti-corruption and compliance, and bankruptcy and restructuring practices, and is part of the environmental, social and governance practice group.
Diego has advised Fortune 500 companies in matters of anti-corruption, due diligence, litigation, arbitration and bankruptcy, and has participated in some of the most relevant anti-corruption and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations in Mexico. He has successfully developed and executed highly complex cross-border litigation and arbitration strategies. And he has been involved in recent critical bankruptcy proceedings in the country.
Diego is licensed to practise law in both Mexico and New York, where he worked as international visiting attorney of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho with honours and he was President of the Student Association. He has a master of laws (LLM) and a certificate in business administration from the School of Law and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He is President of the Anti-corruption Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Mexico); member of the board of the Mexican Bar Association (BMA); coordinator of the insolvency diploma of the Escuela Libre de Derecho and the Mexican Bar Association; coordinator of the anti-corruption diploma of the ICC Mexico and Panamerican University; and officer of the Anti-Corruption Committee for Latin America of the International Bar Association (IBA).
