Carlos has more than 29 years of professional experience and is a partner in the dispute resolution practice of Santamarina y Steta, focusing on civil and commercial litigation, restructuring and insolvency and insurance.

He has represented several clients in the real estate, automobile, health, insurance and retail industries, as well as managing boards, steering committees and senior executives in delicate matters, corporate crises, litigation and other disputes.

He is the founder and coordinator of the Private Procedural and Insolvency Law Committee of the National Association of Enterprise Lawyers. He is also a member of the national bar and a mentor in the Top Management Program at IPADE Business School.

He is the co-author of the Mexico chapters in Lexology Getting the Deal Through: Dispute Resolution in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and in Insurance & Reinsurance 2020 and International Arbitration 2019, published by Chambers and Partners.

Carlos earned his law degree with honours from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and holds diplomas in top management from IPADE Business School and insolvency law from Escuela Libre de Derecho.

He is recognised by The Legal 500 and Best Lawyers, among others, as a leading individual in dispute resolution and litigation.
