Benjamin Drakes is a senior associate and a strategic member of Dentons’ Chambers-ranked Caribbean-wide litigation and dispute resolution team, handling cases across seven jurisdictions.
He has considerable experience with the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court system, namely the High Court of Justice and Court of Appeal in the Eastern Caribbean. Benjamin’s regional focus also encompasses insurance defence and employment and labour.
He also participates in a wide range of restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency matters with an emphasis on the Eastern Caribbean. Benjamin recently co-led our litigation team in an appeal brought before the Caribbean Court of Justice, resulting in a landmark ruling that will now govern all decisions relating to compensation, removing the ability to award what has been seen as double compensation by the Employment Rights Tribunal in Barbados.
