André Moraes Marques has been a partner at Pinheiro Neto Advogados since 2016 and has been a member of the corporate restructuring team since 2004. Mr Marques holds an LLM degree from Columbia Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of São Paulo. He worked as foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York. He is a visiting professor of restructuring and bankruptcy at the Institute of Management Foundation and teaches classes for trustees in training courses organised by the Brazilian chapter of Turnaround Management Association.
He focuses his practice on corporate reorganisation and bankruptcy, debt recovery and renegotiation, and civil and commercial litigation.
He is currently advising a group of nine international banks in the judicial reorganisation of Usina Santa Terezinha. He is also still advising Dana with respect to the complex and large acquisition of business units in the judicial reorganisation proceeding of Sifco SA. Mr Marques also represents international and local clients, such as Bayer, Liberty Seguros, Securitas AB, GLP, Wells Fargo, Umoe Bioenergy and CPFL in large judicial reorganisation and bankruptcy liquidation cases.
He has been recommended by GRR 100 2019, The Legal 500 Latin America 2019, Latin Lawyer 250 2020, Best Lawyers 2020, among other recommendations in bankruptcy and business restructuring practices.
