UK Supreme Court: trustee’s “final distribution” declaration is definitive

A trustee’s declaration that he was paying a “final dividend” under a protected trust deed in Scotland must be taken as definitive, the UK Supreme Court has ruled, even though it was “scarcely a satisfactory outcome” that the debtor later got to keep thousands of pounds of mis-sold PPI insurance compensation.
