Provident scheme sanctioned despite FCA concerns

UK personal credit provider Provident Financial has secured court approval of an English scheme of arrangement that could make more than 4 million creditors take a haircut, after the Financial Conduct Authority declined to oppose it despite raising concerns over the capping of customer compensation.
