Kirkland advising Greek fuel supplier in US$855 million Chapter 11

Controlled by US activist investors since May, ship fuel supplier Aegean Marine Petroleum Network has filed for Chapter 11 protection in New York with Kirkland & Ellis advising, as it seeks to investigate an alleged US$300 million fraud and restructure itself before being sold – but a group of noteholders are already challenging its debtor-in-possession funding.
