Indian Supreme Court makes first ruling on new bankruptcy code

The Indian Supreme Court has found that the country's recently enacted Bankruptcy Code takes precedence over state statutes, dismissing an appeal brought by steel manufacturer Innoventive Industries against an insolvency ruling by Mumbai's National Company Law Tribunal.
