Hong Kong appeal court overturns narrow interpretations of discovery provision

The Hong Kong Court of Appeal has overturned earlier precedents that interpreted a provision of the local Companies Ordinance narrowly, allowing the liquidators of a “massively insolvent” medical supplier to take extensive document discovery from its former director linked to the loss of US$355 million.
