Debenhams judge applies Carluccio's “adoption” principles

In directions applying the days-old Carluccio’s decision, an English court has told Debenhams’ administrators they will likely be taken to have adopted staff employment contracts if they apply for the UK government’s furlough scheme on their behalf – despite arguments it would defy the point of the scheme and undermine the retailer's rescue.
