Canadian judge dismisses California-based businessman’s “insolvent person” claim
An Alberta court has thrown out a bid by California-based Canadian businessman Peter Pocklington – the former owner of National Hockey League team the Edmonton Oilers – to pursue a compromise with his creditors in Canada, finding that he cannot be recognised as an “insolvent person” in the country.
