GRR is seeking nominations in seven categories for the 2nd Annual GRR Awards Ceremony, which takes place in London on 26 June.
This year we’re inviting all readers to submit their nominations in seven key categories:
Most important cross-border recognition decision
Award for innovation in cross-border restructuring and insolvency
Award for cross-border cooperation in a specific restructuring or insolvency matter
Most improved jurisdiction
Most significant restructuring or insolvency-related litigation
Best overall development of the year
Advisory firm that impressed
Those who submitted last year will already recognise most of the categories. New to 2018, however, is “most significant restructuring or insolvency-related litigation” to celebrate the court decisions or proceedings that had the potential to transform the way things operate in the industry.
We’re also opening “advisory firm that impressed” to a public nominations process for the first time.
We will compile the best nominations for 2018 into shortlists for each award category.
All submissions should relate to developments that occurred between March 2017 and April 2018.
Here’s the catch: we need your nominations by Monday 28 May at the latest. We’ll be announcing the shortlists very soon after.
The GRR Awards takes place annually and raises money for the Swawou Layout School in Sierra Leone, which provides education exclusively to disadvantaged girls of primary school age. Law Business Research, the publishing house behind GRR, has sponsored the school since 2009. In that time, proceeds from charity awards ceremonies have helped triple the school's size from 30 to 90 pupils – and it is still growing.
In addition to presenting awards in each of the seven categories above, we will also be celebrating one large law firm that impressed, and one small or regional firm that impressed; and we’ll be bestowing a lifetime achievement accolade to a leading light in the world of international restructuring and insolvency law.
Furthermore, we’ll be revealing the law firms that made it into the GRR 30 – the top 30 firms by ranking in the GRR 100 list of approved law firms for cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters.
The 2018 awards will be held at Banking Hall in London. For more information or to register, please visit the GRR Awards 2018 website.
